Scales Tarn Lodge is situated at Neaum Crag Estate in the heart of the Lake District National Park which is rightfully known by many as one of the wonders of the world and in 2017 it became a UNESCO world heritage site.

This newly built lodge was constructed with entertaining at the heart of the building, comprising of a large open plan kitchen dining and living space with high ceilings and whitewash walls with splashes of colour thrown into the mix with the soft furnishings adding a contemporary twist.

For those who enjoy nothing more than getting in after a long hike in the fells, kicking off your boots and relaxing outside on your own private deck surrounded by woodland birds while you enjoy a glass of wine.

Situated close to the onsite swimming pool and public footpath down to Skelwith Bridge, one of the first things you’ll notice about Scales Tarn Lodge is it sits below the largest tree in this natural woodland estate, a Douglas Fir tree.

With private parking for up to two vehicles, guests can park up and be adventurous on foot with the knowledge they can wander freely in all directions, within a short stroll you’ll find the Skelwith Bridge Hotel and Talbot Bar for light refreshments and traditional pub grub, if you are a tea and cake fan you will more than likely be tempted by the delights at Chesters By the River Café which also has a shop for purchasing gifts and contemporary home items.

A short drive from many of the traditional Lakeland villages ideal if you require last minute provisions, Ambleside being known by the locals as the outdoor retail shop capital, Grasmere renowned for Grasmere Gingerbread and Keswick who still hold the award for the most dog friendly town in Britain for the fourth time running.

You’ll find the open plan kitchen dining and living area which has a modern light and spacious kitchen, including electric oven, hob, microwave, under counter fridge, extra fridge freezer and a dishwasher, perfect for entertaining friends or family.  There are 4 bar stools and an extended work top for sitting at with a morning paper while eating your breakfast. The living area features 2 vibrant sofas, 2 cube bean bags, Smart TV for those wet days, Free Wi-Fi to help with planning your weeks adventures and double doors leading out to a private deck where guests can sit back with a coffee and a good book to escape the rituals of everyday home life.

Scales Tarn Lodge features two bedrooms, a king master bedroom, which has a built-in cube shelving/storage, bedside tables, and hooks for hanging items. The second bedroom has twin beds with a fitted cube shelving/storage for clothes etc. Hooks for hanging items and 2 bedside cabinets.

The bathroom has a modern three-piece suite with shower cubicle with an electric shower, WC, and wash hand basin. There is a mirror with lights, and a large electric towel rail.

The property also has access to the onsite swimming pool, games room and Laundry all located just a short walk from Scales Tarn, open daily from 1st March - 15th November.

The Lake District caters for the whole family so there is no need to leave your four-legged friend behind.  It’s the perfect location for exploring the fells or taking a dip in one of the many waters. You’ll find many of the local restaurants, pubs and cafes are dog friendly, many of which have their own doggy menu.  A local walk booklet is available from the our estate office for walks from Neaum Crag Estate, guiding you on many a popular dog walk right from your front door.
