Sunday afternoons are meant for stretching the legs with the dogs.
What better way than to leave the car on site and to walk one of the many miles without stiles foot paths that the Lakes have to offer.
Walking over to Grasmere village missing the steep incline of Red Bank, we stumbled across Deer Bolts Wood a National Trust footpath. Perfect for letting the dogs have a run about, and great to see families taking advantage of the wide footpaths with children on bicycles. Passing through woodland and then along Grasmere shore line the views are spectacular looking over to the Lion and the Lamb and Dunmail Raise.
A quick pit stop at Baldrys Cafe for a pot of tea and a scone and then to return home to our lodge.
